Funding and Support

At 4th Willenhall Scouts, we rely on funding to keep our programs for young people running. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the following companies for their generous support.

  • How much does it cost per child?
The cost is £11 per month, payable on the 12th of each month, payable for 11 months of the year (no payment in August). We prefer this is done by standing order (forms are available) but cash or cheque is also acceptable.
  • What days / times do your sessions run?
All sections do one session per week, the days / times are: Beavers - Tuesday evening 6.00pm to 7.00pm Cubs - Tuesday evening 7.15pm to 8.30pm Scouts - Thursday evening 7.00pm to 8.30pm
  • When are the term dates?
We follow the Walsall Council school term dates, as that is the area for most of our schools represented within the group.
  • My child is ill, do I need to let you know?
Yes please. This can be done through our Facebook page or by letting Kathy or another leader know before the session is due to start if possible please.
  • My child has missed a few sessions, will they loose their place?
If you notify us then no, however if you do not contact us and they have missed 4 consecutive weeks then their place will be offered to another child.
  • Will you go camping?
We aim to have an overnight event for each section away twice a year. This may be an overnight in the Church hall, camping at one of the many camp sites throughout the country (or world!), or it could be somewhere like the Sea Life Centre or at the Natural History Museum in London. This isn’t possible without enough leaders and volunteers to ensure the safety and well being of our youth members, so it may not be on a regular basis.
  • Are all volunteers DBS checked?
Every adult leader and executive member is DBS checked, plus adults involved in overnights trip.
  • Do you have visitors to the group?
Yes, we have had lots of visitors for a variety of reasons. The British Legion representative tends to visit around Remembrance Day, plus we have had visits from the police, the community fridge at The Chart Centre, and a blind gentleman with his assistance dog. We also sometimes receive visitors from the wider Scout community.
